Kodilingam

Visiting Kodilingam, Kolar (KGF)

Recently I visited to Kodilingam temple. I got excited to see those many linga in that temple.

I started with my family around 7am and reached there by 10am. (since I don't know the route clearly).

To visit there, you can reach kolar through old madras road  and from there take the bypass (right side road) to avoid the city and proceed further, you can reach a flyover. Go under the flyover, you will reach a railway crossing and immediately after that crossing, take a right turn which takes you to bangarpet (small town) and keep on going to reach KGF (Kolar Gold Field) double road.

To go inside the temple, an entrance fee of Rs. 10/- is charged.

Everywhere in the temple, it is written that, "Camera not allowed", but I see everyone is taking photo there. Also a person is available near the big lingam to take instant photo.

From there, it is approximately 6km to reach kodilingam temple (watch the right side of the road for Big lingam).

15Kms from there, is situated a Bangaru tirupati. Its a small temple situated in the small hillock. Alamelu amman is situated in another hillock
.

It is better if you take a packed food with you. You can't find hotels on the way. A small restaurant is available in Bangarpet, but when I went through that, it was closed.
